What you can save
A tiny target cannot preserve all the detail of a long recording. Target sizes are estimates; very small targets can be impractical, and exact byte counts are not guaranteed.
From source to saved file
- Add your video in Compress Video. Check the duration and preview a detailed or moving scene.
- Choose a target size or reduction percentage. Shorten the time range or remove unwanted edges if that helps your purpose.
- Save a new copy and inspect it before sharing. If the picture loses too much detail, choose a larger target.
Free and Pro, clearly
Target-size compression, time trimming and picture cropping are available in Free. Free video-file output is up to 1080p, with a two-task file queue and one running task. Pro adds higher-resolution output and larger queues. Quality and final size depend on the source and settings.
Check the result
This page describes MP4 output from supported media. Play the saved file, check the selected range and listen to the sound. Keep your original. No universal device compatibility or guaranteed compression ratio is implied.
Questions before you start
Will there be a watermark?
No. Neither edition adds a watermark or an artificial speed limit.
Can I save only part of the recording?
Yes. Set the start and end in the source preview. Only the selected time range is saved. Keep the original if you may want a different passage later.
Does my media leave my computer?
Conversion is local. CD metadata lookup, online licensing and update checks have separate network behavior described in the Privacy Notice.
What if the result is not what I expected?
Keep the original, check your source selection and try a short range. Use Support in the app to review and submit a diagnostic report when needed. Review it for personal information before sending.
